About Zach

Zach has led communications for members of Congress,
high-profile political campaigns, and mission-driven organizations, including major non-profits, advocacy groups, and educational institutions.

He knows from experience that the most effective communications campaigns are built around core questions that speak to the heart of an organization’s mission: What Are We Trying to Accomplish, What Do We Need to Say, Who Do We Need to Talk With, What Tools Can We Use, and How Do We Measure Success?

An expert in media relations, Zach has earned meaningful coverage across national, state, and local news outlets, working regularly with journalists at the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NPR and dozens of other prominent news organizations. He has deep experience collaborating with reporters, editors, producers, and news directors, successfully pitching stories, placing opinion essays, and handling timely media inquiries.

Prior to launching his consulting practice, Zach served as Senior
Vice President at the New York-based communications and
reputation management firm Rubenstein and, before that, as
Vice President at the Washington, DC-based campaign firm M+R Strategic Services. He relishes the opportunity to work with forward-looking, innovative, and impactful clients to advance
high-stakes issue campaigns, highlight executive leadership, and navigate through moments of crises.

Zach has helped lead communications for the College Board, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, and the American Diabetes Association, in addition to retired U.S. Senator Herb Kohl and retired U.S. Representative Rush Holt.

He is proud that, through his communications work, he has been able to secure positive change on major issues, including education, health care, scientific research, reproductive rights, environmental protection, and support for veterans.

Zach lives in New York City with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he likes to exercise, read, explore New York, play trivia (as a former Jeopardy contestant), and root for Wisconsin sports teams, including the Green Bay Packers, of which he is an owner (along with more than half a million other shareholders).
